HNP Volunteer Spotlights

Kayla Armstrong

Steers the direction of HNP Biodiversity Map

The future of the HNP Biodiversity Map is looking brighter and clearer than ever, and we have an incredible volunteer to thank for helping steer the ship.

Kayla Armstrong has stepped up into a vital role, acting as a product manager to help shape the direction and strategy of the Biodiversity Map. She works closely with HNP staff and volunteers to ensure the Biodiversity Map stays true to the mission. From nailing down requirements and designs to testing new features, Kayla does it all!

Kayla’s impact on the biodiversity movement didn’t just start with her contributions at HNP. She also walks the walk in her local community, installing native plants at home, and volunteering with her local native plant society, master gardeners program, environmental advisory committee and shade tree commission.

This kind of dedicated, high-impact contribution is exactly what Homegrown National Park is built on. Thank you to Kayla and all of our wonderful volunteers who make this work possible.

Nicola Beuscher

Updates the HNP Biodiversity Map pins

Our Biodiversity Map has a fresh new look, and it’s all thanks to our incredible volunteers!

Nicola rebuilt our map pins from top to bottom. They look sharper, run smoother, and do a better job showing just how far the native plant movement has spread across the country.

This is exactly the kind of work that makes HNP so special. Volunteers like Nicola show up, share their talents, and make the whole community stronger. We are so grateful.
